Hey everyone, I'm Jake
I've got a royal python called Albert. He is my first snake and ever since I got him which was a year ago I've just wanted more! I'm actually obsessed! After Christmas I'm gunna get a carpet python and a red tail boa! and next summer my aim is to hopefully build my own reptile shed so I can get more snakes!

Got a few questions.....
Anyone got any advice on carpet pythons? People tell me they are aggressive and others say that are fine... Anyone got any experience on these?
Also I was wondering if anyone has built like a shed/hut for their snakes, just wanna know a bit more on how to and what to do? Pics would be sweeeet

Cheers everyone!!!

hi and welcome, i have a jungle carpet and hes a bitch, but others have them and they are like puppy dogs. my advice would be to handle in the shop and if he/she is confident and doesn't bite then your most likely on to a winner

i was looking at getting a carpet python in the future once ive got all the royals i want, i handled an adult in my local pet store and was told with regular handling they are fine as baobab said its just when they are little and arent used to being handled they can be defensive

Hi Snakemummers. welcome in. We have a carpet python and apart from a couple of little bites when he was very ickle he is very calm and loves his walkies. Like most types you'll get friendly snakes and grumpy miserable sods, but with plenty of handling and the right set up most are happy to be handled by the big pink monsters.

hi and welcome along

all snakes can be feisty or not so fiesty is down to the individual snake not a species type thing.
