My son and I are completely new to snake keeping and we just got our beautiful Royal Python. He's a Lesser Platinum and just stunning. I have to say we had the best advice and help from our local breeder - Peter Rice in March, Cambs and our new boy is everything we hoped for and more.

He is already feeding and seems to be very happy and contented in his new home. He is really easy to handle and just giving us lots of confidence.

I am really looking forward to reading the posts and participating in the forum. Peter did say we might end up being snake addicts (I think he saw all the warning signs)!

I did manage to take a few good photos (the open mouth shot just after he fed yesterday) and hope they come out here.

Any questions just ask away, this is a great friendly forum :)

are you aiming at blue eyed Leucistics one day? or gonna go down another route with the lesser gene (Nuclear etc)?

Thanks for your welcome everyone.

I have a few questions mainly on genetics, but will start a new thread in the relevant section. Your help and advice would be very welcome. So far (touch wood) we seem to be having no issues at all. We handled him this morning (2 days after his feed) and he was alert and friendly as usual. I think we have been really lucky in our first choice.

Very Nice Royal there, you have started with a great morph. I do love what can be done with the lesser gene
