Posted - 23/05/2012 : 11:17:54 Hi all, just acquired my first royal on Saturday, she is 6 months old and 157grams, is that about right???? Anyway, the reason for posting is she was due a feed on saturday, (the day i got her), and i was defrosting for the others, so thought i would try anyway, but she refused, and i thought i would try her again in a few days time, but she again refused last night, when should i try again, i was told she was on medium mice or rat pups, i have tried both on the different feeds. Many thanks in advance!! |

Posted - 23/05/2012 : 13:26:56 Hi and welcome. Do check with the seller what feeding schedule they had in place, they should know if it was a regular or troublesome feeder. But as above, let her settle in for a while before you start to panik |

Posted - 23/05/2012 : 13:10:46 Hello and welcome to the forum. 157g dosnt seem too bad. My Floyd is around 8/9 months and he weighs 256. And smee is around 7 months I think and he is 209g. Once they start gobbling on rats their weight goes up loads. I think my girlfriends royal after switching from mice to rats put on around 80g in a month! Personally I'd leave her until the weekend at least, won't do her any harm to go a few more days, getting used to her new surroundings at the same time. Once again, welcome to the forum :) |

Posted - 23/05/2012 : 11:24:27 Hi and welcome
Give her a bit of time to settle in before feeding again. Maybe leave her til the. Ext round of defrosting
Both of my new males fed 3days after moving, my female still hasn't fed 3weeks later. They're all different |
