Hi All,

I am new to Royals and will be collecting my first one in 2 weeks time :) I am re-homing 1 of my corns in order to free up the space for my new addition.

I will be putting her in a Vivexotic LX24 but will obviously be decorating with lots of plant/hides so she feels secure and safe. But my main concern is heating and humidity. What is the best way to heat for Royals? I have seen alot of debates on this and some people say Ceramic with guard and others mat on stat, but as this is my first one i would like to make sure I am doing everything possible to ensure she is happy.

Also humidity? what is the best way to keep this up at the right percentage as I dont want it to fluctuate too much as I am aware this can cause stress and lead to not feeding?

Any advice is much appreciated,

Thanks

Ant

do you have the IR bulb and a mat on stat or just the IR bulb on a stat? looks nice though :)

Mine is the vivexotic vx36 i have 2 coconut shell hides one for either end a bark tunnel in the middle that goes into a little hiding space behind the bamboo root and i have 3 plastic hanging plants attached along the back and the two floor standing one with 2 meters of flexible vine twisted together for climbing and an exo terra feeding bowl in hot end and water bowl in center. i also have a snake cave i put in with moss inside when he's shedding but a margerine tub with holes in would do the same

Hi and welcome

Best way to heat a viv IMO is with a bulb/guard/stat setup. Either a red night light, IR or a ceramic

Humidity isn't really a problem there best between 50 and 60% which is about what it is in the house. Only time you'd need it higher is to aid shedding and a moss box would do for that
