Posted - 06/05/2013 : 19:03:50 About 4-6" depending on sex, i bought two tubs lotabob will look for a versi to occupy that as id like to be able to handle now and then apparently the laeta is unlike other avics and will actively defend itself and is also faster than the others |

I love versicolors they have the most amazing colours and temperament.
I use a 1mm drill bit to make my air holes, it takes forever to drill the holes but they do the job perfectly. Or just drill the holes bigger and stick tights material over the holes. |

Posted - 06/05/2013 : 15:00:28 Think i might get a versicolour too as that's what i was looking for and need something else to help eat the pinheads bit of a waste having a full tub for one sling |

Posted - 06/05/2013 : 14:58:56 Yeah that's what Im having trouble with now lol finding something thin enough so not to let the pinheads out but strong enough to pierce a tupaware tub |

Posted - 06/05/2013 : 14:42:23 Nice one, I'm currently on the look out for a versicolor so been reding up on Avics quite a bit. Never heard of cotton wool been used for humidity before either not with all the soil in that tub, bit of a trump in a hurricane if you ask me.
Ventilation is the big one with these for sure, they'd do we'll living in a sieve but just remember don't make the holes big enough for their food to escape. |

Posted - 06/05/2013 : 12:58:12 never heard of damp cotton wool being used a quick spray every couple of day's does the job |

Posted - 06/05/2013 : 12:50:52 Yeah that's what i thought the tub its came in has no holes for ventilation and the girl in shop said to just soak some cotton wool and place in every week Im popping to asda now to buy a suitable tub |

Posted - 06/05/2013 : 12:42:39 congrat's on the T, just seen this on a fb group. something like this setup would be good for an avic, lot's of small vent's in the lid an more round the side's for cross ventilation. avic's can suddenly die if there's not enough ventilation
