Posted - 05/05/2011 : 19:09:41 Well finally got the home made viv finished thanks to the thread on here and cutting by B&Q, to be honest I probably could have bought one cheaper online, but wanted to build 1 myself just to say I'd done it(if I can build one anyone can). so it's built its warm and it's sealed and pech is in situ, before anyone asks it's being heated by a mat which normally isn't recomended for heavy bodied snakes but being as pech is a male crawl cay and as such shouldn't exceed much more than 36" and be a slender variety of boa I'm prepared to wait and see.
Thanks for looking |

Posted - 05/05/2011 : 19:55:40 Superb - I ended up with flatpack, simply due to having no transport, so getting it all delivered was a better option, but to build it all yourself, that's quite an achievement!
'Build it and they will come' - does that mean the snakes? Like cats knowing where to find a home? Yes, it's very strange - I thought I'd better make plans for a viv stack in case I bred the royals and couldn't/wouldn't part with offspring. For various reasons I've decided not to breed - but my snake population began to grow even before I constructed the stack ... karma eh??
Beautiful viv! |
