Posted - 12/06/2011 : 11:10:55 they are gorgeous mrsA i used to own a crested, but didnt have the time to tend to it everyday as with gcse's and all that, but he was gorgeous, and loved to be handled. day geckos are gorgeous, but they can not ever be handled although its nice as they are day active, so if you put a ncie piece of bamboo under the heat lamp in the open, they bask and you can watch them throughout the day |

Posted - 11/06/2011 : 23:02:42 Yeah, silent crickets ...how uncool is that? Right atm i've got an old biorb full of locusts to satisfy my need for creepy-crawlies in the house ... they're rather stylish, but they don't chirp, sadly.
Corns enjoy lizard tails ... |

Posted - 11/06/2011 : 22:47:46 Silent crickets lol, that's so funny, did they used to chirp but everytime they did the breeder shhhh'd them until they learnt. I think I like day Gecko's they are so pretty only problem is their delicate skin and with all geckos I'm terrified it would shed its tail, i'd feel so guilty for ages if that happened. |

Posted - 11/06/2011 : 22:37:16 Just get a cheap faun for a fiver from wilko, a pack of adult black crickets, a few loo roll inners, a couple of breadsticks or some cornflakes, a shallow bowl of fish food and a piece of raw potato, cucumber or base of lettuce, change veg every couple of days and keep on kitchen roll - and they'll chirp nonstop until they've gone through the adult egg-laying cycle, after which the males (the ones who chirp) won't have any incentive to court the females and then, I'm afraid, they'll die of old age no matter how well you feed them. fun while it lasts though.
Pooh, they are smelly though.
Most shops sell silent crickets ...grrr!!! But the chirping crickets are great!
ps Mrs A they are cute!! |
