Yeah, you can see how bold his colouring was then. But he's still a pretty boy now too ; ) |

Posted - 20/07/2011 : 15:54:59 Wow - he was a nice big hatchling - takes after his dad and young brother Duke eh?
Amendment - just as an afterthought, I once read that this yellowing is a sign that the snake is male, and, after the SHAMELESS behaviour of Spider and Spooky and my other adult corns this spring, I took S&S to be re-probed in case they were males. But no, despite the shocking behaviour and the yellowing, they're women ... |

Posted - 20/07/2011 : 12:58:58 Spot is nearly 1 now, and I cant believe how big he is getting. His colouration is fading but like you say they are still pretty
1 year ago!!!
It amazes me just how much they grow in the first couple of years, he was no thicker than a pencil when I got him and munching on pinkies and now he is gobbling down medium-large mice and is about as thick as my middle finger. |

Posted - 20/07/2011 : 11:38:08 Aww, lovely lad! How old is he now?
I know what you mean about the yellowing - both my anery, Spider, and Spooky, the ghost (when she came she told me her name was 'Salome Spooks' and that she was a girl but as I didn't know for sure that she WAS a girl I just called her Spooky lol) have loads of yellowing (they're 2 now.)
I confess I like the black and white of the hatchling anery better - when I saw an adult anery in the shop I was shocked. Spider's markings are now a sort of bitter chocolate colour, fading in the middle, but she's my Spider and she's beautiful.
Great pics. Love anerys, love corns ... must get some pics up of my lot and compete lol! |

Posted - 20/07/2011 : 11:08:56 Shiny Spot : )
I can see the yellow, just about. I can imagine how it must be in real life.
I love the pattern down his tail, like a Zebra crossing! |
