I take in rescue rats, so it's great to see more : ) So many people think it's fine to keep them all on their own, so it's always so pleasing to see them in groups like they should be in.

Mind you, I've been keeping rats for nearly nine years now and never been able to littler train a single one! X )

You're welcome. If you need extra help my email address is in my profile under hobbies. I've had alot of experience with female rats and with all the illnesses that come with them.

We were thinking of getting 3 actually so can get one of each plus an extra.

They are so easy to litter train. All you have to do is put a litter tray in the corner of the cage and everytime they leave a nugget put it in the tray and if they go outside the cage then put the rat and the nugget in the litter tray together. My 2 picked it up within a couple of weeks and they were 8 months when i got them. you have to make sure the the litter in the tray is different from the bedding in the cage. Unfortunately the stuff i used to use is no longer on the website i got it from. It was a type of corn litter which is good as mine tended to eat it so it was safe for them.

Are they particularly hard to litter train?

Aww they are so cute. I really miss having rats even though it's only been 2 months. I was thinking of getting more but housemate's started taking about getting a cat instead. May have to see about getting both, i'd love a dumbo one like Mozart and housemate wants a Berkshire.

I litter trained mine so hardly any nuggets left for me to clear up.
