(Yes, I'm screaming like a girl... oh, right, I'm a girl)
Ok, I'm looking at the animal list... pygmy hedgepigs then?
And here I thought we're crazy for running a mini-zoo because we have 7 snakes, 2 dogs, 2 turtles, 3 birds, rats and fish... we don't even come close! |

They bring back memories of a woman I knew decades ago, A Mrs Jessie Mabel Sunderland in Wakefield (anyone in West Yorks area hear of or remember her?) She was a famous eccentric and she'd take in anything lost or poorly. I mean anything. Cats, dogs, birds, including swans and raptors - and pigs. She adored pigs. I remember her, frail and 80+, heaving an injured swan out of its shed for its daily outing. The swan was nearly as big as she was ...
One summer she took in some baby hedgehogs. These were just native UK hedgehogs of course, and they were so tiny they didn't have spines, just white silky hair. I used to help feed them with a doll's feeding bottle ...happy days. |
