Just been laughing at your Alfie vid too, my folks had a golden retriever when I was younger, and we spent many an hour with a chew rope. Do you find he (she) bites ever closer to your hand until you end up with a fingers grip?
Our Max had that same mean looking snarl when 'killing' the rope too, always made me laugh how quickly it disappeared when he dropped it
