I havn#t noticed his throat swollen like this before..any ideas why?

As far as I know as they grow they get more foldy and crinkled and wider and flatter. Maybe just the way his folds were sitting, as he looks perfectly normal in the picture. Just keep an eye on it, if it is a definite swelling rather than just skin sitting proud then maybe a vet trip is a good idea. Did you get to have a feel of his throat or are the teeth too close in that end? |

It was strange Rob, in fact it was Katana that saw it. Not his beard, just one side of his throat..then he came out for awhile :) |

They do, puff out their beard, he is just growing up with a little double chin. |

I know literally nothing about lizards of any type so don't take much notice of me but isn't it a mating thing for beardies to puff out their neck? O.o |
