Hi Guys,

A quick update on Camo!!!!

I was thinking the other day how much of a shame it is that he was in my rack and not on display, that and the fact I will need his rub when I get my retic this weekend and my new rack isnt due to arrive for a good week or so, so I set about converting one of my spare exo terras.

bit of expanding foam

and set about making the background

after this I covered the sides in black silicone and covered with dry coco husk

Then added the canopy and the heat lamp ( only had a red bulb but will get a ceramic at the weekend hooked up to a ceramic )

BUT decided I was too worried about using this tank in the end, partly because I wasnt happy with the overall look and partly because I was worried about leaching chemicals;

Fortunately I had ANOTHER exo terra unopened in the garage :D

SO i b******dised the old background so that it slotted around the original background and covered part of the sides like so;

Then all that was left was to introduce Camo to his new home! :D

As you can see he DIDNT want to go in - the whole process took approximately an hour!!

ANNNNNNNNNNNND back out again

Hard to tell in the pics matey, they're so hard to spot when they go into a shed cycle. The only way I can normally tell with mine is when he stops hanging his head down in the hunting position at night for a few days

Normally when I go check on the gang when I'm back from work, meissa is hanging down in the classic hunting pose. If he's still perched up and stays there I know he's getting ready to shed. That and the slight appearance that his skin looks "dirty" if that makes sense? Kinda like he needs a wash haha

Fez,

In your opinion would you say he's going into shed here?

He has been looking alot, paler than usual. Could it be the start of him changing?

I know he is fine and its not a health issue, eating, weeing, drinking and feeding as should and temps are spot on 31c under basking spot....
