i held my smallest asian forest after cleaning her tub the other day
and some pic's under uv light
adult asian forest
and one of the red claw's, git wouldnt stay still

Don't think I've ever heard a hissing Scorp before : )
She seems pretty calm to be held in those pics. Maybe the adults will be the same ; ) |

cheer's all the uv light is great fun an also very handy for identifying which species/sub=species they are.
they are a lot more green but the camera doesnt pick it up very well, they actually look like they have been painted
she is kind of cute for a scorpion was very cool to hold her, i tipped her onto my hand from a cricket tub so not to scare/threaten her by picking her up.
i have held one of the flat rock scorpion's before but this is the first time ive held the asian forest's, might need a beer or 2 before holding one of the adult's.
i noticed the other day that they will actually hiss which is very interesting |

I love those UV pics. Don't see them often enough, showing how they glow like that.
I know your not supposed to have this reaction to a Scorp, but I saw that first photo and went "Aww". She/he is just so little...
Saying that, I bet he wouldn't feel so tiny anymore if he fancied giving you a good nip! X )
Congrats on the hold by the way. How did you feel about it?
