Posted - 03/06/2013 : 09:12:32 I bought a baby boa a couple of weeks ago. I mentioned when I got it that it had wrinkly skin. I was told it could just be going into shed, but there has been no sign of a shed and it seems to be getting worse. I've seen it go into its water bowl a couple of times now so I know it's not shy of water. I've also given it a little bath to try and rehydrate it, but it still seems wrinkly. Can anyone please advise? |

Posted - 10/06/2013 : 22:54:01 Just thought I would mention my boa has had skin in places like yours since I have had her, she absolutely fine, around 8.5 ft weighing around 14kg sheds complete, never once missed a feed. Always been in a viv since day one, she is now 7 years old. Hope this eases your mind :) |

Posted - 10/06/2013 : 19:17:32 Ive never used a RUB before, can someone tell me the cheapest website to buy them, and also the best number of holes to drill? Thank you |

Posted - 10/06/2013 : 19:15:57 Yeah its in a komodo terrarium. I will try and get a RUB sorted at weekend. Will take it for check up too, they might be able to sex it for me too :) |

Posted - 10/06/2013 : 19:03:51 william usually still has a bit of loose skin after a shed but goes before long. is the boa still in a faun? if so i would sort out a RUB as they hold the humidity much better.
worth a check up as like you say it will give you some peace of mind |

Posted - 10/06/2013 : 18:46:17 Boa still has a really baggy neck. ive got a moss box in there, ive been soaking prey items before feeding and ive been bathing it everyday. cant be dehydrated. Im tempted to take it to the local vet, they are a reptile specialist. I just want someone to look at it and tell me it is okay. It will give me piece of mind. |

Posted - 06/06/2013 : 17:34:49 Just an update: I had put a moss box in the terrarium and given my boa a bath. I fed him/her (still need a name!!) on Tuesday, I soaked the mouse first to help with hydration. Took the food in a flash! no issues there. Then yesterday it had shed its skin!! I think its safe to say I have been worrying about nothing. It seemed to have loose skin for a long time. Other than the loose skin there didnt seem to be any obvious signs the snake was in slough. I do love that every new snake brings a new learning challenge :) |

Posted - 03/06/2013 : 20:28:42 Aww little dude needs some moisturiser lol. Could be slightly dry and really noticeable now because of an upcoming shed, check the belly, it will be cloudy and kind of pinky/orange if a shed is on the way. Either way upping the humidity will be helpful, give it a few days and see what happens, if its eating it unlikely to be dehydrated. |

Posted - 03/06/2013 : 12:58:43 Yeah I've heard of the powerade bath. Was thinking of giving it a try. I think my little one is about the same age as your babies kelf. Hopefully it is a shed, but I am going to treat it as dehydration. |

Posted - 03/06/2013 : 12:42:20 Upping the humidity will help an you could also give him a poweraide bath, warm water with some poweraide mixed in. I used the blue one when giving my boa a bath after he regurged |

Posted - 03/06/2013 : 10:22:05 looks like hes going to shed with how wrinkly he is |

Posted - 03/06/2013 : 10:12:47 Will soaking and raising humidity help, or will he actually have to drink? I've seen him sat in the waterbowl but doesn't seem to be helping |
