and here's a little video of him enjoying his breakfast

It certainly is a hard game for the people wanting to make a difference. But yeah the real rescues are very hard to come by. But like you say it's the people wanting to make a quick quid that really disappoint the rest of us who want to help as people just see us in the same light. It's good that people want to make sure the new owners are legit. But without taking a risk every now and then the rescue will just build up with more. And breeders creating more reptiles just to be put to one side.

Oh no that's terrible. They all need the same treatment. See how they cope being thrown out of a window.

there are load's of "rescues" but most are just after free pet's the genuine ones are few an far between unforunately.
there's currently 300+ reptile's im the local one he does re home them but is very fussy about who to make sure it's not freebie hunter's or people wanting a cheap snake/lizard.

ive seen some nasty stuff come in there, beardie's with fag burn in it's neck and a chinese water dragon with a broken jaw that was thrown from a 2nd story window!
there are some horrible *******s out there that need shooting

if you have the time an money it is a very rewarding thing to do but can be very time/space consuming

Yeah I know. We need more rescues etc were people can take them too. I was thinking of building an outhouse and start to do something like that. In time and with more knowledge of course. Not many reptile only places near me.
chrisc Posted - 14/07/2013 : 00:04:45
my mum loves them has the beardie an a corn snake.
yes it really is, way to many idiot's breeding them thinking they can make million's out of them.
there's about 50 beardies in the rescue at the moment but the problem is the male's as they need to be house separately where the female's can live together with 3-4 per viv

It's always good when a friend or family member get one and gets involved with assistance of course lol but a great rescue there. I might go to my local rescue soon and see what they got. It's good when you can make a difference to such a forgotten bunch of animals. Terrible how many are neglected these days
chrisc Posted - 13/07/2013 : 23:39:01
yes i did see it, these do sleep in some odd position's.

eric is my mum's but im pretty much in charge of his setup/care, love their personality's though funny little thing's
Foremand Posted - 13/07/2013 : 23:03:36
Loving it Chris. Dunno if you see the picture but one night my bearded fell asleep vertically against a mirror tile I put in the viv. Was funny.
chrisc Posted - 13/07/2013 : 22:39:41
eric seem's to have decided that this will be his sleeping position, about 6.30 every evening he climb's up to go to sleep so off got the light's
chrisc Posted - 07/07/2013 : 11:58:06
some more stone's and dried grass added to eric's viv just need a few more flat stone's an it will be complete

thank's i did dry it in the oven as it was very wet but didn't dry it for long enough as the viv got a bit of condensation but it's pretty much dry now

Nice one chris, wish I had a rescue near me!!

Love the hide/ramp what a great idea.
chrisc Posted - 01/07/2013 : 17:19:42
day off to day so have improved eric's setup, play sand as substrate an a hide/climbing bit in the corner
just need to get some more big flat stone's to cover most of the floor also have some bunches of grass drying that will go in there for some decoration
