Posted - 27/06/2013 : 10:51:05 I was saving this until I could get some decent pics (he was in blue when I got him) BUT I couldn't as I'm so chuffed.
Will post pics tonight as he's just shed but he's a stunner!!!

Posted - 01/07/2013 : 17:24:47 Ive seen a 9 year old male at 5.5 foot.
By all accounts its the females that get big, 8 foot I believe.
I THINK they are either the largest venemous colubrid OR largest colubrid. |

The breeder was telling me its more like a bee sting - in that a bad reaction can be bad but otherwise not so.
Saying that he had a hatchling on him for 20 seconds and he had localised pain and swelling for 7 days.
Just dont get bitten is the motto. |

Posted - 28/06/2013 : 09:40:49 He didnt feed last night unfortunately.
I've never seen a more nervous snake!
The trip from Doncaster must have been very stressful.
But he seems quite happy bathing whilst the rub is in the rack so I will try him again next week.

Of course at the moment its too early to start handling but I will once he is feeding regularly and has calmed down some. |

Posted - 28/06/2013 : 05:08:07 stunning i will get myself one of these at some point. some of them can be aggressive but most are just very very food orientated from what ive read about them |

Posted - 28/06/2013 : 01:02:24 I love these. They have a bad reputation because of th venom and they are super strong but they are just beautiful and I'm sure if handled it will be just fine. |

Posted - 27/06/2013 : 20:32:23 I saw one in a pet shop a couple of years ago. I remember the "experienced keepers only" sign was up. I asked the guy about it and he told me it was mega aggressive. He might have just been referring to that particular snake though. |

Poor little thing is still VERY nervous but I've been told he will literally eat anything.
False Water Cobras will even eat their own faeces! |
