Posted - 23/08/2013 : 01:32:12 Just thought I would share this because I found it strange. My Boa is extremely tame, which is why i found this so odd. I was walking past its Terrarium earlier tonight and I heard a bang, looked inside and she is in striking position (obviously just struck the tank). The light was off in the room so there wasnt much light, wondering if I startled her and she just reacted. normally if I startle her whilst handling she will recoil and hide herself in defense, so this seemed odd. She was fed 3 days ago, so dont think it was hunger either. Anyway I gave her a few mins to settle down and took her out and she didnt seem at all aggressive. My Hognose on the other hand just hisses at me everytime I walk past its viv lol. Grumpy sod!! |

Posted - 23/08/2013 : 22:46:07 Sounds like a case of Boaitis. Sanke does this all the time, a real shadow attacker. They never learn, funny thing is once the door is open even straight after a strike and she can properly smell me too she wont strike again. |

Posted - 23/08/2013 : 07:22:19 Our Boa's haven't done this, but one of our Royals goes straight into feeding mode as soon as you go near the viv door. She follows my hand as it opens the door and strikes as soon as the door is opened. Once she's out she turns into a little sweety again. |
