Still got another 20 eggs to go .

what will you do with them? do they get big? i know nothing about them..

I'm expecting some die-off as the colony grows but am hoping for an optomistic 30% survival rate. They will quite happily stay put on sprigs of bramble or rose kept in a vase once adult but if my mystery project goes ahead (mums the word Ant23uk ) then they will be in a flexarium or something similar. They grow to somewhere between palm and hand sized so fairly large critters. I like big bugs but mainly because they freak Jo out

Orchid mantids are pretty cool. The only thing that puts me off them is the problems that they can have during shedding.
MissCat Posted - 05/06/2009 : 09:22:53
i like the ones that look like orchids :D
my eldest wanted stick insects a few years ago, then he went and actually saw them but they kinda freaked him out so he ended up with GALS lol
Paulusworm Posted - 05/06/2009 : 09:15:27
Cheers Guys. They will, hopefully get a lot bigger than that.

There are some weird ones out there. I used to keep Giant Australian *****ly stick insects, Extatasoma sp, and they look dead weird .
