Well, it all started when we walked in to Roxy's Pet shop (in Bloxwich Walsall) earlier today after going to the doctors. And mum made the mistake of going in the back where they have all the animals. I walked over to where they had the small animals, and in one tank there were about 5 tiny hamsters (i think Russian?) and in a tank next to them, 5 rats, about 4-5 weeks old. Mom says awh, i like that dark colored one, and i went awh too, and then she said do you want one? O_O I was like ok =D
Mom asked the woman if i could look at them, i put my hand in ( i don't know the background of the rats, or if they were friendly or not) they were sniffing around my hand, a bit weary, but were great, i picked up the dark one, she was a bit skittish, but was lovely very friendly, and i also liked another, i think she was Fawn, she was lighting out as she had a gradient effect on her back (pale cream color to darker brown-cream color towards the base of her tail,) I was torn between the two, but in the end i went for the darker one.
She is a a mink (i think) Hooded, with a blaze, I'm calling her China=D Mom said we might go back for her sister tomorrow, if we do get the sister, i might call her Tokyo or Japan.
She won't be on her own, I'm quarantining her at the moment, then she will be going in with my other girls, Sumo Sal(used to be Regan) and Pearl. =D When i used to breed rats, i had to introduce rats quite a lot, so i have some experience, and they all went well, so touch wood this will go well too =D

Very cheap, bag of rat food from the pet shop now and then. Mine also used to get bits of bacon fat, fruit, or digestive biscuit as a treat now and then.
I'd like another but I don't think I could handle cuddling a pet rat and then feeding its cousin to the snakes! |

ferrets all the way :D rats are for snake food and shooting :L only joking i think they are really cool as pets :) |

Haha, thanks =D A few years ago, i had a little boy like her called Joey, and he was far too young to be away from his family, (he was weaned, but still needed his family) and he always went in my bra and slept, and he would lick my fingers and lick around my eyes too, He's passed now, but he was a lovely little guy <333 |

Awh, cool =) we also have two more rats, a dumbo Siamese Pearl, and a Sumo himi Sumo Sal xD We did have about 30 rats at one time, and less that a year ago, i lost my most fave ratty in the world, Barty boy who lived till he was about 5, i miss that little guy. <333 |
