Does any1 now how easy stick insects to look after?
How are they heated if they need heating?
What do they eat and how oftern?
What size inclosure do they need and how big? |

I keep sabah, Mclays Spectre and pink winged. I don't heat any (although the room is thermostated to 22. All mine eat bramble, but check because certain species need to be kept on the same vegetation throughout their lives: ie they can't be changed from bramble to privet or vice-versa. The tank needs to be at least three times as high as the length of the stick insect to allow for shedding. We keep bramble in all the time with a change for fresh at least weekly. You need to have a good stock of your vegetation away from roads because of pollution. We have a wet sponge for water and a laying tub for the Maclays. I wouldn't recommend the pink winged as they fly and breed really quickly. The other two species are really easy to handle.
Where are you? I've got some babies just about big enough to sell or loads of pink winged adults... |
