Hi,
I have a 7 year old Common Boa who up until I moved from North Wales had no problems at all. However since moving down to Hampshire in January he has not been himself. He is 8' in length and lives in a 5'x3'x3' viv at a temp of 85/75 day night. He has shed once since moving and used to spend large amounts of time soaking in his bath prior to shedding. Lately his skin is very dry and he won't go in his bath and I haven't seen him drinking. He is eating quite well. He has a daytime spot and nigh time mat. He never leaves his hide unless I remove it to feed him. Could it be the water?, Welsh water is soft water. I'm at a loss as to know what to do.

You have to upload them to www.photobucket.com and from there you can put them into the thread.

Have a little read of this http://www.theroyalpython.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4

Thank you Kaz, I used the reptisafe and changed his house back to his half barrel and now he is as happy as a pig in poo. I had given him an upturned dog bed when we moved down here but I think he was trying to tell me he wanted his barrel back. And who says snakes cannot make informed choices. Thanks again for your advice.

It could be, although I would think the trip down might have shook him up a bit too.

Have you tried conditioning the water with reptisafe?
