Posted - 02/02/2011 : 23:45:01 I'm thinking getting a jungle boa or salmon boa in a few month was just wondering what kind of setup and that i would need before i buy? and what care is needed to keep a snake like this, i already have a royal and he is great would have another one but only have a 2 foot vivarium and would need to buy a bigger vivarium to house both of them. So any if anyone has any information would be appreciated. :D |

I am slightly worried by the mention of co-habiting as it's really not a good idea.
Have a look at the care guide here: http://www.redtailboas.com/f110/

Posted - 05/02/2011 : 09:40:25 Hi there and welcome in ref to your Q your royal is in a 2ft viv that will be fine for a couple years but will need 3ft by 2ft as an adult. You should not put 2 together there will be prop pushing for the hot spots and stress so they are best kept on there own.Ref the samon boa i have had one since aug a baby at the moment he is in a 3ftx2ftx18insD but as sandi said will have to be 5ft min later i have a male which should grow to 7 to 8 ft. females 10+ and not forgetting she will have live young about about 20+ at one time. There are guy's and girls on here with years of experiance i am still a newby 4 years hope this helps all the best Sticks. |

Posted - 03/02/2011 : 22:19:13 I'm planning a boa future too. If space for a second royal is an issue then maybe a boa isnt for you as you need a bigger viv. typical viv size for a BCI is min 5 foot. I may be wrong but ithink the salmon is a BCC and therefore bigger so min 6foot viv.
there r smaller boas, crawl cay is one at about 5foot as an adult but still need more space than a royal. |
