Help my bearded dragons have been at it, im now needing help on what to do next, so if any one has any good sites please let me know |

My girl keeps digging in the hot end of the tank, i got told to put the nest box in the cold end, i have now put the nest box up the hot end and she is digging away in it now. do you think it will be ok to lay the eggs up that end ?? I have my incubator ready for when the eggs come out |

Sorry to spoil the party lee but even if you seperate them now there is a good possibility she could still have another two cluthes as they retain sperm and if you do keep them together the male will not leave her alone which could be detramental to her long term health... |

I am going to take the eggs in to the shop, let them do the work. i keep telling the wife we need to split them so we don't have any more eggs but she thinks they are happy together. |

Yeah thats what i was thinking,when i asked all babies for a normal royal.And £90 bob,more like £50 to £90. |

first clutches tend to be smaller we had 10 we hatched last year and got rid very quickly. Granted we didnt have to worry about food for them we grow our own, but if the shop is willing to take them for a royal I think thats a pretty good deal.
If you incubate you ae best keeping these guys for 6 weeks before letting them go. |

Just seen on TCS a post about a beardie with a clutch of 19 eggs. I dont know if thats normal or not but a normal Royal shop price is £90 tops wqhich then means £4.73 a baby tops, You'll spend more than that incubating, temporary homing and feeding, baby lizards are bottomless pits with food.

I didn't want to sound like i was being an ass,You said it better bob.Look on most sites,every thread is about bearded dragons and geckos.What do you plan on doing with any babies? |

i have to agree i would personally freeze the eggs as theres to many unwanted ones on the market but if you decide to keep them

There are already far too many of these poor critters everywhere. If it was me I'd do the kind thing and freeze the eggs. Its sounds like a hard faced approach but maybe then the people who want a beardie will take one of the unwanted ones of which there are hundreds and stall the production of more babies into the trade which may just add to the number of unwanted beardies out there. |

you have 2 options, incubate the eggs, or dont incubate the eggs. if you incubate best at 28 deg with as high humidity as possible. If you dont want to incubate the eggs just give them a wee shake and put them in the freezer for a few days. One piece of advice i shall give you though is beardies are expensive from hatchling and they dont go for very much cash so give some serious consideration about what you want to do. |
