Never seen a computer programme to measure a snake, at our Zoo we use a piece of string, perhaps not accurate to the millimetre on huge snakes but its close enough, we fairly accurately measured a Retic at 18ft 3 inch using this method.
Get a length of string, start at the nose and lay it along the animals spine to the tail, cut the string at the end of the snake and measure the piece of string. Simple.

Yeah the programme is 100% accurate but due to the different ways it is used there will be a difference even if I was to go do it again it would be different. Perfect example of the weak link been the human element.

boomslang Posted - 25/11/2011 : 10:24:11
don't you have to use a ruler,or something with clear measurements on it?
Lotabob Posted - 25/11/2011 : 01:37:29
Length of snake:
Straight: 4 feet, 0.02 inches
Curved: 4 feet, 0.12 inches
