got the little female bull snake to take a rat this evening after she ignored the first 2.
defrosted ratty with a mouse fuzzy an smeared some blood on the head and bang, these things dont hang around when eating only took a min or 2 and it was gone.

You're not kidding - I nearly gip when I have to empty Ziska's 'chamberpot' (she has a separate small water dish these days in case she goes in the big one overnight.)
One thing I'll say for pits though, I've had Ziska almost 9 months now and often when I handle her she's in a tantrum, or she'll curl up in my sweater for hours and relax, which with a corn would be fatal, but she's never crapped on me as a corn generally would. Never even musked when she's been cross. I was a bit apprehensive about the anal popping (and other stuff emerging as well as gas) that I'd read pines did, but although Shadrach was furious (tail rattled) about being put in a box (scared of missing something) while I moved his stuff into his new viv, he never offered to musk or crap on me.
Whereas it's a bit rough on the corns, you have to wait until they've made a mess before they have armchair walkies, and even then you have to be on your guard in case they decide to empty their spare tank ... |

yep they love to tunnel, flip the hides, curl up under the mat an fill their water with aspen oh an crap on the heatmat! a lovely smell that created |

LOL - I can imagine - Ziska has a very nice plant and likes uprooting it - don't know what substrate you've got yours on, but if you give them deep aspen they'll create a network of tunnels more complicated than the London underground, it's like having moles. |

yes their great fun but not very tidy, every day when i get home from work their vivs are trashed. had to take one of the hides out of the little ones viv last night as he was rolling it over an over, the noise was keeping me awake |

Congrats, and lovely bull snake and vid - yes, they're little eating machines - Ziska is growing at a rate of knots and now on larger meals every 10 days, and Shadrach's attitude to food these days is that of a ravening Tasmanian devil - pits are very rewarding to feed! |
