Has anyone ever heard of a Barbados threadsnake? Just seen something on the internet about them, they're supposedly the smallest snake known to man... Averages at about 4inches long!!

Just thought it was pretty cool

How many exotic animals do actually do anything? One of my royals doesn't do anything and neither do the 2 corns! Lol I'm beginning to think they're all lazy! Lol I've asked my girlfriend a few times and all I get is nope, not a chance or sure but I won't be here!

You should get a little one, they are very cool but I'll not lie to you when I say they really dont do much. The only time I see mine is when I lift out the foliage and the hides to check its still alive.

Yeah it does sound complicated, royals and corns are just easier! Lol but that does sound like a cool idea

I would like to own a few different animals, i want a scorpion cause its my star sign but the girlfriend says noooo! Lol

I'd thought of creating a kind of bottle garden in a small fishtank, with plants and sterilised compost for the snake to dig in, but keeping the humidity balance right, getting the heating right and also sourcing the right kind of larvae in midwinter (unless the snake hibernates) could be pretty complicated.

Mind you, they do sell those ant containers don't they, where you can breed your own ants' nest ...indoor ants might have a longer breeding season.

I think I'll stick to more conventional snakes for the time being but these little critters ARE fascinating.

could keep one in a big match box with a bit of plastic stuck into the top

I Never thought I'd see a snake that little! It's adorable lol I'm scared of hurting young corn snakes when I handle em so I don't think I could handle something that small.

About a couple of years ago I chatted to someone on RFUK who was expecting to sell some of these, but nothing came of it. They feed on ant larvae.

I believe David Attenborough calls them 'flowerpot snakes'.

Fascinating beasties!

I couldn't own one! Would be too worried about losing it! Lol can you actually buy these?? How big will your house snake get?
