Has anybody about 20 females they couls sell?

I just bought a huge opaque tub lol its massive and deep..I placed it along the length of the radiator, so shouldn't need a mat :)

If I'd have realised I'd have sent you a few to try first, I've lots of them lol. Yeah you can recycle heat from the vivarium too, its not an exact thing, I just keep mine in the Tarantula viv and the mat on the floor keeps about 30oC The adults I have are breeding well but it will take some time for these babies to reach adulthood now but I can afford to start using some for food soon and then I can do away with smelly crickets. I also have a mealworm farm started but its just on its first cycle, I hope its productive as I would like to feed the birds with them and maybe even sell some on but thats all down the line.

Yes although Beardies are supposed to love them you will get the odd one who doesn't lol, you could just put there container on top of one of your viv's and recycle the heat from the bulb or ceramic heater

No Rob he's never had any..but he damn well will if I have to spoon feed em LOL
I have a spare mat, so i'll use that..thanks

You will, I keep mine at 30oC. The hotter they are the better they breed, at 20oC I think they'll lose the urge. Small question, did you try Gimli on these first to see if he likes them?

Thanks guys,

I bought 35 adult females and 10 adult males...and some large plus some smalls.

My house is a constant 22 degrees, will I need a heat mat?
reptilemadd Posted - 18/03/2012 : 20:23:41
It's ok but you really don't need that many males, you could try the Roach Colony I think it's called thats where I got mine from and they are reasonable price wise.

lol Bats, yeah probaly *grins* Its just a starter colony on ebay..not sure where else to get them..£13 for 100..30 are adults

Do the surplus males draw straws out of a hat or find the pearl in the cup of wine ...that dooms them to be sacrificed to the Lord Gimli???
JanieW Posted - 18/03/2012 : 14:23:25
I can get 15 male and 15 females, and younger ones too ..that'd be ok?
Lotabob Posted - 17/03/2012 : 17:13:31
Yup as reptilemadd says and the secret roach viagra ingredient is oranges. I started a colony on 10 females and 2 males which were productive but wouldn't have been enough for the tarantulas and scorpions and Harley so I added another 15 females and 3 more males, I go with the ratio of 1 male to 5 females.

I lost one of the roaches last week though to a prolapse, it wasn't pretty.

The more the better they seem to breed more readily in big groups so if you start off with as many females as you can and just three or four males (a good ratio is about 4:1 in favour of the females)and as long as you keep them dark and warm and well fed they will go at it like rabbits lol and in about two or three weeks there will be babies everywhere lol
