I went upstairs to check Fea..couldn't see him as he'd moved..then I saw a length of pale snake and I thought he had died as it looked like his belly.
Katana bless her went up on her own to see..she touched him with a leaf and he shot his head round.

I am so happy and relieved :)

I couldn't describe the feeling to anybody that never felt that cold dread.

I know what you mean... my husband said he immediately knew something went horribly wrong just from the first word that I uttered when he picked up the phone. He said, right when I said his name, he immediately got up with his car keys in hand having that horrible feeling that something happened to one of the kids...

So yeah, I scared the bejeezus out of him too! And yes, cold dread, I kinda knew what that meant before but not as well as I know it now.

I'm just glad your boa is fine too.

You know, my pet rats died of old age about a year or so ago, but I didn't feel that dread when I opened the house to find one of them not moving. I guess I was prepared for it already seeing that they have lived longer than the average rat's lifespan. The female died about 4 months earlier than the male and I can kinda tell how depressed the male got when his wife died.

Ohhh Janie! I know that feeling!!!

I had the parakeets flying around in the bathroom (don't ask... long story) and I didn't realize my son turned on the vanity lights (halogen bulbs - get very hot). I smell something burning so I get out of shower and saw smoke coming out of one of the vanity lights!

First thought in my head was... I KILLED THE BIRD! I tried to stay calm for my son, but my son went into some kind of a shock thinking he killed the bird too. So, I shoo'd him out of the bathroom saying, it's ok, everything is ok, when my heart was pumping like bass drums... I called my husband on the phone telling him to come home quick because we killed the bird and while I was talking on the phone, all 4 birds fly out of the shower and landed on the towel bar right infront of me.

Come to find out, the bird dropped poop right onto the halogen bulb which burned when my son turned the light on.

Anyway, it was one giant lesson - no birds allowed in bathrooms!
