Posted - 01/04/2012 : 13:58:20 was doing the usual water changes an cleaning an decided to weigh the bull ivan 23/02/12 644g 01/04/12 746g just over 4 1/2 ft now hes starting to get some girth on him an have noticed hes got a bit more red colouration than the female
the female, still not found a name i like 03/01/12 374g 01/04/12 568g just under 4ft i think shes filling out a little but seems to be growing a little slower than ivan

Posted - 01/04/2012 : 15:00:12 Yeah, all pits are unusually large as hatchlings from what I gather, and of course their good appetites keep them growing fast. The shop told me 8' for Ziska, although I gather 6' is more usual. She's now 16 months and 5' at least, judging just by comparison between her and the length of her viv. Shadrach's 9 months and about 3'.
Don't know why pits aren't more popular - they really are a breathtaking snake, and very easy to keep and feed - Shadrach took his first medium mouse today. |
