we are in the process of ordering a new viv for norma which means a longer UVB tube. now the one we are getting is an arcadia 12% 34in long 39w. the starter unit we have has 30w wrote on the sticker.

does anybody know if i can use 39w tube in a starter unit that says 30w?

found out you need the same rated starter as bulb so we need to buy a new starter too

Erm I would have thought that you have to use the right rating starter for the right wattage bulb or there may be complications, I actually have higher wattage bulbs than whats rated in my bathroom downlights though and they work just fine, unless you turn them off then want to turn them back on again, it takes ages for them to actually work. (I should really sort it out but I'm too cheap to throw away bulbs that work.
