hey,

im aware that most may not of kept scorpions but some of u have spiders which have similar requirments and i just wonna ask wen using a heat mat for the main heat scoure is it stuck on the inside or outside, of the side on the tank?

mind you even if it does end up being eco earth it will still be 3-4" deep so still seems wiser to side mount it to me

I would say outside, since it's a glass tank. Safer really and heat will still get through.

yea plantation soil is the plan. but eco earth if not. yea side if its soil bottom if its eco. but i just wasnt sure if u have the heatmat inside the tank or outside for best heat use?

I'm not sure, but I would guess it depended on the substrate you are using. If it's a soil type then I would think on the side would be better, just because it might be too thick for the heat to penetrate from below.
