I have been thinking of making one and the idea i had was to use insulation sandwhiched between 12/15mm mdf for the sides, back, base and top. The front would have a full length double glazed door that will shut tightly against slam gaskit/draught strip. Heating it i will use soil heat cable.

Now if you can picture what i have in my head do you think it would hold temps ok having a double glazed door and double skin shell with insulation between?

Can't see why not, I've seen vivs used as incubators so your idea would be 100% better than a viv having the double skin and cavity wall insulation :-)
