1. Buy tubs and Conti board:

2. Rout grooves and cover in Aluminium tape:

3. Attach base and sides:

4. Place tubs on shelf with CD's on top as spacers:

5. Place next shelf on top and mark with a pencil:

6. Screw shelf in:

7. Do it again, and again:

8. Start threading the heat cable from the top:

9. Thread heat cable along and down all the way down:

10. Put a back on:

11. Stick radiator reflector foil to the back:

12.

13. Put tubs in and your lidless rack is finished:

not sure about the probe placement but think pp stats are best for heat cable.
kelf an some others have built their own RUB racks so will be able to tell you, still on my list of things to do id build a RUB rack at some point for hatchlings

Brilliant! Just wondering what type of thermostat would you use? And wheres best for the probe to go? Im thinking of making one for hatchlings.

Sorry stevie don't know about the cables but to be honest it's something I could do with knowing for the future, but as for the tubs and conti board, tubs or rubs from staples and conti from B&Q or homebase and they will even cut it to length for you :)

Wheres best place to get the heat cable?

I found some "Zoo Med Repti Heat Cable" at www.seapets.co.uk price for 15watt 3.5 meter cable is £19.99. They go up to 100watt 12 meters for £47.95..

Anyone have an opinion on the best heat cable?

Where did you get the tubs and conti board from

Oh yes, thats what i'm going to build. How has he dealt with ventilation? as you could have holes in tubs for cool end but where would stale air go?

I'm going to end up with a room of snakes As im moving in about a fortnight and have a little room that's not going to be used so thinking a stack with all different size rubs.

I think (its been a while) he said that the whole thing including tubs and stat etc was about £150.
