Right now I'm puzzled. Just went to check on the eggs to make sure the temperature is still fine and did a quick candle of the eggs too. I looked at the heat mat and Ive got a Habistat Heat Mat 35w (29in x 11in) in the incubator connected to the dimmer stat. Like I said it holds the temperature spot on @ 30.8°C/87.5F
Is it because the Heat mat`s wattage is close enough to the min of 40W for the dimmer stat to work?

But I must add, like Carlb said you need a min of 40W.

Yes you can. Ive taken the risk in using a pulse stat in one of my incubators and a dimmer stat in my second just for an comparison and test for which would give me the most stable temp. Both did, but I prefere the pulse stat just because on a pulse stat you have the light flickering on and of and can quickly see if it work or not. Where as a dimmer stat's light keeps burning.

i dont think so as you need a min 40w on a dimmer stat but i might be wrong
