Sorry for the barrage of questions. Just want to make sure my setup is at its optimum.

I am seeing a temp swing on the rub hot end of from 30-34.5 deg, this is because of the habitstat on/off stat. Temps are measured by digital term on the rub floor, temp is never static and is always moving between the two above figures.

Now is this ok? Or should I bite the bullet and get a pulse stat which will mean more stable temps?

I use habitat duel mat stat for my rack, and like what has been said before the the tens goes up and down with the stat. I keep the maximum at about 33

I use dual time dimming stats, so I maintain a regular temp and a 10f drop between 9:30pm and 9am

I use habistat stats and they never fluctuate well worth paying the bit extra for them

Yeah got the microclimate mat stat.

Might get a pulse stat if I have any spare cash at the end of the month.

guessing you are using a microclimate mat stat? if so this is fine as theres a few degrees difference between on/off
the microclimate i use for my bull snakes goes on/off from 27c-31c

Constantly changing as stat turns the mat on and off.

So temp will rise to say 34 the stat will knock off and temps drop back till stat kicks back in and cycle will start again.

I find my self watching the ever changing temp and worrying

You're in the right ball park with those temps, is your fluctuation day/night or several times across the day

My rack runs on an on/off stat without any issue. So long as you're in that 30-35c range you should be ok

I run all mine from a dimmer stat.
how often does the temp fluctuate, is it a couple of times a day or numerous times?
