Posted - 26/12/2012 : 00:23:12 merry Christmas, I hope Santa was good to everyone and hello to any new member of your family that Santa delivered, my new royal is still in the post! I cant wait lol I have decided that I am going to make a new viv/rack set up as would like it to also be a nice piece of furniture. I am looking for advice on what thermostat to use as the microclimate the basic on keeps on breaking. I want to have three sections hatchling rack, royal adult rack, corn rack. what would you recommend as the best thermo stat set up, should I get individual ones for each rack and what product is best. I am also converting a fridge into an incubator and feel the microclimate I have been using for the heat mats (not bulbs and still are failing) one, are not proving to be reliable and also there fluctuating up and down by a few degrees and want one that is more accurate. I am willing to invest in quality, for more piece of mind and that will last. all the best :) |

They'll also do night drops etc for the more advanced breeder |

I built a viv stack a year or so ago so if you need any info on parts etc give me a shout and I'll give you the details of what I got and where from. |

Posted - 26/12/2012 : 15:56:52 I use heatmats with habitat duel thermostats, some people use just one stat for multiple mats but I like to have control of each individual mat. With heat cable you have to router the wood for them which is why I opted for mats |

Posted - 26/12/2012 : 08:12:19 As above, heat cable is the easiest way to heat racks, as for an incubator not that sure , I have seen incubators for sale for around £90 buy the time you buy a pulse stat and heat source you won't be that far off that.

Posted - 26/12/2012 : 06:35:01 For the racks you could use heat cable to heat it then just have one thermostat for each rack. For the incubator I would use a pulse stat as they keep at the right temperature best and hardly fluctuate |
