I have read a lot about heat mats and the danger of thermal blocking. From what I've read it is fine to use them for corns and other small bodied snakes but not for royals of a certain size.

It would therefore seem to me that there is a weight for the snake when mats are ok and when they are not and I wonder if anyone can offer any guidlines.

This isn;t just for my royal but I also have a bairds that is over a kilo in weight.

Regards

would recommend anything over 1kg is to big for a mat.
