I have a terrarium that had a hole in the mesh lid but as I was going to use it for dart frogs I removed the mesh and replaced with pond liner. I'm now wanting to use it for a Royal setup but will there be enough ventilation with just the front window ventilation? I don't want to spend £32 for a replacement lid when the terrarium only cost me £30. Link below for a picture of the vents. Thanks

A dome/holder with a ceramic on top would be best :)

yeah, suppose I should just plug it in and see what it does! Read some reviews where people have had to cover the mesh to make them more suitable so I'll see what happens.

You're right about a mesh lid and a heat mat, you'd really struggle with temps. I'd have thought you'd need a bulb and dome with the mesh lid

I might be trial and error regarding ventilation if you're leaving the liner on. If its staying to humid you'll need to adjust accordingly

The liner is secure, it's fixed to the original lid & the temp shouldn't be a problem with a heat mat, I'd have thought I'd struggle more with the temps having a mesh lid?

You might struggle getting temps to stay right in a glass tank aswell

I'd say you were in the market for a new lid, I'm afraid

I'm not sure how secure the pond liner will be to keep a royal in, let alone ventilation. When they put their mind to it, they can be destructive little beggers
