Posted - 02/02/2013 : 12:36:42 Hi guys so I was wondering how do you know when to move your snake into its big vivarium as mines in a faunarium at the minute? Is it by its length ? And if so how long and big should your snake be to be able to put it in the vivarium ? Sorry bout the question but I can't find much info on this about the snake |

Posted - 04/02/2013 : 02:57:37 My pair are both bout 2.5 foot long and they were in tubs wen i got them but i put them straight into there 36" vivs and they have been fine no feeding problems or anything . Out of curiosity what size viv would a full grown male need ? |

Posted - 03/02/2013 : 22:12:55 I'm with Richard. Exactly what I did. I also would use the length plus width equation, although some also say that a royal is happy with NOT too much space. I'm debating whether to put Oscar in a bigger one come summer, but as long as he's behaving normally and eating well (just finished a fast), I shan't rush to move him. |

Posted - 02/02/2013 : 15:27:25 i think it just all depends on the snake really?? some love being in a viv others will go off food and so on. my female use to live in a viv and was a bad shedder and refused her feed all the time! changed her into a 50L rub and she now stuffs her cute face all the time now without fail. |

Posted - 02/02/2013 : 15:14:53 I put one of mine in a large viv to,Like a month after i got him.Guess it depends on the snake in question, and experience helps to i guess.
Alot of people move whatever snake to different size rubs, before it goes into its main viv home. |

Posted - 02/02/2013 : 13:39:25 I had my royal in a 2ftx15x18 viv from day one plenty of hides and branches, when he was as long as the length plus width of the viv I moved him up to his current size. I think many people use this as a rule of size. |

Posted - 02/02/2013 : 13:17:40 I don't think there is really a right or wrong answer lol just depends on the snake really you could have a fully grown adult and put it in a viv and it go off food whereas you could have a young royal that might be fine in the viv lol. I am gonna wait till mine are to big for their rubs then try them in a viv then if they don't like it get a bigger rub till they are bit bigger |
