I am very sad to announce that I had to say goodbye to my wonderful George.

The reason why? He refused to eat whilst in my care. My friend took him on to start feeding him again and he fed immediately and continued to feed whilst in her care. I had him back when she left the country and again he refused to feed. He was 410g and I was not going to risk him losing any more weight, so when the Lady who bought Si's Boa offered to take him on, I reluctantly agreed.

She set him up in a viv with boosted temps (slightly cooler than the hotter temps my previous friend had him running at) and after leaving him alone for a month, he struck and fed for her.

I was very tempted to have him back, but as he has ALWAYS refused to eat for me whilst here, and he lost a mahoosive 600g in 2 months, I decided to do what is best for him and let her keep him.

I miss him a stupid amount, but I know he would have died of starvation, had I selfishly kept him with me. :(

So yeah, my final topic in this forum. You will still see me over on the kingsnake forum though. :)

Kind regards,

Carol

I am sure if I asked she would either bring him over for me, or let me go and see him, she is only in Birmingham, about 20 odd miles from where I live.

I am VERY relieved that he fed for her because it was getting to the stage where we considered assist feeding, or force feeding if that didn't work.

Hard decision but sounds like you've done the best for George.
