Posted - 14/05/2013 : 09:49:51 How gross is this? Funny smell from Oscar viv so took everything out and deep cleaned although only done a week ago. I found a dead mouse stuffed up in his hide (it's like a hollow root) it's been there since thurs. really manky, moist, mangled. Has he regurged do you think or just played with it? Wired that he ate the first one and hid this one. Urgh gross |

Posted - 07/05/2013 : 12:22:20 I put mine in tap water as warm as I can stand on my hand. Not had an expulsion but have had one bleed through nose and ears. Oscar went into strike frenzy lol |

Posted - 06/05/2013 : 14:47:53 Oh wow, I haven't had that pleasure yet! I always use a bowl of hot-ish water and warm the weaker up for about 10 -15 mins which seems about perfect for Noodle. By that time he's usually right up to the glass as if he was saying "Come on I'm starving!!!" |

Posted - 04/05/2013 : 20:11:29 On yeah I have had the gut spaghetti feeding time effect with ll mine too. Spot does it the most because he twists while he constricts and they rip in half. Definitely a hazard of constrictors.
You also get the rat poop squeezed out, rat wee squeezed out, and blood from the nose and mouth.
Why do we like snakes again? |

Posted - 04/05/2013 : 08:30:46 Not long ago when I fed Baileys, (Boa) of course Steve was away offshore..anyway I used BBQ tongs with a handle bit like scissors. Anyway he struck wildly, dived straight through the looped handles and coiled so tightly around the steel, mouse squashed..guts everywhere. I couldn't pull the tongs out through the hatch so what a commotion..Katana took one look at the mouse's intestines and scarpered, leaving me alone to untangle a feed crazed monster lol Since that episode, I gots new tongs :P |

Posted - 04/05/2013 : 08:20:41 Always a pleasure when you get a blood and guts meal time. Our boa did this once, fortunately when I was away. He struck the rat, splitting it open and at the same time got tangled up in the tongs. Jane had the pleasure of trying to untangle rat guts and boa in eating mode from them. Woa hahaha. |

Posted - 04/05/2013 : 08:20:34 Yup happened to me before
Could possibly be because you warmed up the rat too quickly- happens if I use hot water instead of warm |
