Posted - 17/05/2013 : 19:57:10 If mine ever have a scrappy shed I just leave the moist hides and add another damp cloth, add extra water bowl to hot end (as well as the cool one for drinking) and mist a couple of times. Then I leave them alone for a day or two. So far by the end of the second day, at the latest, the rest of the shed has come off on it's own. No stress for the snake and pretty easy for me too!! |

Posted - 17/05/2013 : 16:12:31 If its just happened just up the humidity, stick damp face cloths over the hides and leave the snake to it. If its still there after 24 hours then, you can put them into a damp pillowcase for 20 minutes or so and that should shift it and is less stressful than bathing. Bathing is not the most efficient of methods with stuck shed on the head as although they will dunk their heads they won't stay submerged for long enough for it to do anything significant. Bathing should be considered a last resort, for most snakes its stressful, there will be some water babies out there but lots just get stressed out and if they wanted to bathe they have their waterbowl available to them anyway. |
