A week ago I got my first young royal, a female normal which hatched August 2012, she's had quite a start to her young life, she came from a surprise clutch which a friend of mine (local keeper that's on here) took on to help out a friend of hers as she had no experience with baby royals, she was an assist feeder since hatching and over the months her feeding improved loads, even though she wasn't quite feeding on her own she improved enough for my friend to be confident that I'd manage feeding her & I've had her just over a week and also I was well aware of what I was taking on getting her.

Anyway, her first feed was Wednesday night, she didn't eat and tbh I wasn't really expecting her to, tonight I was about to feed my housie a nice warm fluff & I thought as my royal was watching me intently I'd offer her it to see what she did..............bang first strike ever since hatching and I could not be more happy, next time she'll get another fluff and then I'll offer her something bigger and keep going from there, I'm really made up and she's definately made my day!

Congratulations. Can't beat that feeling when a problem feeder eats.

And tonight we had strike two (am not over feeding her by the way, when she struck on Friday it was just a mouse fluf), this time she took a small mouse, she's a clever girl!

Thanks very much for the nice replies and Lotabob am really hoping it's the start of a trend with her, as long as I don't rush her it can only be onwards and upwards.

Let's hope it's the start of a trend. Keep up the great work.
