I have been seeing lots of people using these days, anyone use them on here or any feedback on them?

Cheers Kelf, I think I will try and see one in action before I eventually take the plunge as they are not cheap lol

Do the Rads give a hot spot or are they more of a ambient thing?

Definitely more an ambient thing but the area about 30cm infront if hot I guess that could be your hotspot

You should stick your legs in there, they'll warm it up nicely at the moment.

Ha ha ha -.-''

We have the 500W ones in a 6*3*3 and a 4*2*2 and haven't had any problems.

I love ceramic bulbs, I've nothing big enough to need a AHS, I suppose another option is the very tidy reptile radiators. They are nifty and sleek.

I've used one for a few years now

Never had a problem running it. Heated a 5x3x2ft and is now I'm a 4x2x2ft and heats that just fine, very steady temps

It's a ballache to setup and get dialed in but once it settle down no issues

Units are costly
Kelfezond Posted - 03/06/2013 : 15:16:37
I'd imagine they'd be fine for a 3ft or 4ft, I believe they're used more for bigger vivs
phlegmatical Posted - 03/06/2013 : 14:34:59
I was looking into getting one for my 4ft but the cost of the unit plus a guard was too high to take a chance when not many people had reviewed them so stuck with the ceramic in the end
Leucistic Posted - 03/06/2013 : 14:18:04
Cheers Kelf that's interesting, I was looking into them for a couple of 3ft royal vivs and a possible 6ft burm viv. Lots to think about now
Kelfezond Posted - 03/06/2013 : 13:51:14
They look nicer than a basic ceramic I guess, and they last longer than a ceramic bulb, won't need a bulb fixture etc.

Any major pros to them over a basic ceramic set up?
Kelfezond Posted - 03/06/2013 : 13:26:50
I use one, not overly impressed with it for the cost though.
