hey guys, i hve attempted to feed lecter twice now, both times i have warmed the mouse up using my mums hair dryer (of which she knows nothing), and placing it on a clean wall time and placin it in his RUB, just before i go to bed, however the next morning the mouse remains untouched. any suggestions of how to help lecter with his meal.....also he has retained the tip of his tail after a shed, eye caps and all are away just his tail, i have been warming up a cloth in water and lightly rubbinh his tail in an attempt to soften the skin from which i can pick it off slowly, but Lecter catched in that there is someone at his tail and goes a lookin for the individual conducting the inappropriate feeling  ! have u guys any other wat of removing skin before ur snake realises lol :D cheers guys |

I find the best thing to do with tail tips is to let the snake have a little supervised soak in some warm shallow water for 5-10mins, then i soak a flannel and hold it around the snake close to the tail. The snake will slither free from the flannel and should work the skin off with it. |

I wouldn't worry about him not feeding, as he is new and being man handled he is probably not quite settled in. You're doing nothing wrong in your feeding technique.
I would just double check that the hot end of the Rub is sitting at 32-33°C as they know not to eat when they are cold as they will struggle to digest their meal.
As for the tail tip being retained, I perssonally just stick the snake into a damp pillowcase for 20-30 minutes and the skin normally comes straight off. Though if its just one later of skin it won't cause any bother and will come off next time around (its better if it comes off but not the end of the world if it won't budge). |
