Hi can anybody help please I've put my royal in his big viv now it's all decorated out so isn't massive for him but he seems to enjoy it in the cold end an awful lot and I've been getting worried so I've been taking him out the cold end and putting him In the warm and sometimes he can stay but most of the time he's straight back out and in the cold End. I'm just worried that its dangerous for him :( his cool end is around 26c and underneath the bulb on the floor on the warm End it's 31c

Mine spends most of his time in the cool end as well, occasionly lies around stretched out with his head resting on the hot hide though, which is really funny to see, but you should have nothing to worry about

A couple of mine spend a lot of time in the cool end. Sometimes they bask for a bit on their Habba nuts. Usually go to hot end after a feed.

Sounds like a snake being a snake. The cold end isn't cold, call it ambient, lol. Double check your hot end temperature, if anything I'd turn it up to 32-33°C. They do use the hot end but will spend a lot of the time in the ambient temperature area.

My Royal spends most of his time in the ambient end but I do see him in the hot end after eating or even laying under the bulb to warm up. All we can do as owners is give them the conditions they require and it's then left to them how to use it.
