Ok there is a bewildering range of stats on the market, I think I have narrowed it down to two, one that just maintains the temp and one that will do a daytime and a cooler night time temp.

Any pros or cons to either or any better alternatives? This will be for controling heat via a creamic bulb in a 2' viv and moving up as our royal grows.

Any opinions welcome :)

Thanks
Ian

I like Habistat,do have microclimate ones too.But have had problems with them.As for that night time one,Does the animal you're using it for need a night time drop? also the microclimate night eye looks ok,if you really wanted a temp drop one.Less messing around with extra leads etc.

As said above the habistat pulse is a well known well used stat very reliable don't bother with the day/Night function.

Yup, just plug in and set temps required. You can set a min and max temp in 1deg increments

I am a firm believer in Habistat stats. Good value, basic so easy to use and very reliable I use dimmer stats to hold a very steady constant temperature. Pulse stats do the same but not for light emitting bulbs at it makes them flash. On off stats will shorten the life of a ceramic bulb constantly turning it off and it cools and then back on full power and it heats up. And you'll get a fluctuation in temperature between the stats on and off temperatures.

Couldn't justify the extra £s for the day/night function

Been exclusively using these since getting fed up with dial type stats. I really enjoy the ease of use and functions
