Some do, some don't, the ones that do soetimes don't, an the nes that don't soetimes do, hehehehehe.

I offer as normal, but make sure there is someone else ready to take anythng refused to save waste.

Last time Princess shed she wouldn't eat until it was over, so this time I'm not going to offer until she's finished.

I don't if montiiee's been blue for more than a couple of days, but did this feed as montiiee only went blue the day he was due.
But i won't be offering food again until after the shedding process is complete. As i don't want him laying around in moss hide after eating.

thats my theory as well if i can
Blackecho Posted - 08/07/2009 : 22:29:10
That's why you need more snakes, then if one doesn't eat, chances are, another will
matty18714 Posted - 08/07/2009 : 22:22:41
I voted never. I dont want to waste a rat if they dont eat. It makes no differance if they miss a week.
Blackecho Posted - 08/07/2009 : 22:17:39
I have some that will and some that won't.

I have put always...but that is cos it is always offered unless they are completely blue eye...if they take it fine if they dont they dont. Most seem too...

feeding while in shed

the royal, Dumerils boas and male corns - no
the female corns - yes if they'll take it (and they usually do )

I`ve only had my Royals a couple of months and at first didn`t realise when my female was going in to shed, fed her reguardless and she always ate. Learning quickly though and last time i left her untill she had shed properly.

I would always feed my russian ratsnake regardless but he was a dustbin and would eat every day if i had let him (this is going back some years, lol)

I wouldnt offer either of my royals food whilst in shed. The reason for Obran, although a good eater, i dont have anything similar size to offer the refused food item to so its a waste and for Scamps i dont really have a reason but a bit of variety in your feeding times cant do any harm

One of my corns has only turned down food once whilst in shed.
Bren501 Posted - 08/07/2009 : 15:20:45
every snake iv had has turned down food whilst in shed until around a day or two after shedding :)
