had my royal a week now, and he has been fed twice now, (eaten 1 small mouse each time), i got him out today and weighed him (200g) and measured him the best i could (around 1.5ft, maybe a bit smaller)

now the questions, is his weight right for his size, if not, what weight should he be? also what food should he be eating? been told 10/15% his body weight, so around 30g? is this right?

cheers

Yes, sorry, stupid moment, I was thinking that to have been fed twice in a week, it would have to have been every 3 days or something (as in 7/2) - ignore me

no worries, got me worried for a moment there, lol. i did feed him soon after getting him because his feed was meant to be the day i got him, but thought i would leave it 2 days so he can settle a bit first

If you've only had it a week and its been fed twice, how often are you feeding?

feeding him every 5 days, in another post you said if he is under 400g then to feed every 5 days, took both the mice straight away as well, got told by the pet shop that he has never missed a feed, so fingers crossed he carries on like that

i am very new to snakes, so any extra advice would be very much appreciated

i would go 20-25g on food...

as for weight age, its a hard one cos all royals are different, but going back to when i first got my boy and he was around the same length, he weighed around about 160g so your sounds like he is doing fine..
